The official 2027–2028 country schedule lists Research Fellowship and PhD scholarship routes for Mexico, with a 30 November 2026 deadline at 23:59 Swiss local time. Current support is CHF 2,450 per month. Research Fellowships support 6–12 months; PhD scholarships begin with 12 months and can be renewed subject to academic progress. Eligible non-EU/EFTA scholars can also receive specified health-insurance, housing-deposit, travel-card and return-flight support; tuition and semester fees are generally not covered.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants for the current research routes generally need a qualifying master’s degree by the published programme cutoff, a detailed research proposal and support from an academic supervisor in Switzerland, and must meet the current age and programme-specific conditions. The Mexico schedule offers Research Fellowship and PhD routes.
