The official Asia country schedule lists Research Fellowship and PhD routes for Myanmar. Research fellowships support 6–12 months of full-time research, while PhD scholarships start with 12 months and may be renewed twice for up to 36 months subject to progress. Current support is CHF 2,450 per month; eligible non-EU/EFTA scholars also receive compulsory health-insurance premium coverage, a CHF 600 rental-deposit grant, a Half-Fare Travelcard and a return-flight allowance. Tuition and semester fees are generally not covered.
Eligibility requirements
Research and PhD applicants generally need a master's degree or equivalent completed by 31 July 2027 (30 June 2027 for ETH Zurich), must have been born after 31 December 1991, must submit a detailed research plan, and must secure a support letter from an eligible academic supervisor in Switzerland.
