Overview

The Swiss Confederation's 2027–2028 Government Excellence Scholarship call is open to eligible applicants from Chile for Research Fellowship and PhD scholarship routes in Switzerland.

Complete scholarship details

For 2027–2028, eligible Research Fellowship and PhD recipients receive CHF 2,450 per month. For eligible non-EU/EFTA scholarship holders, FCS also covers compulsory health-insurance premiums; additional benefits include a CHF 600 rental-deposit grant, a Half-Fare public-transport card and a return-flight allowance. Tuition and semester fees are generally not covered by the federal scholarship.

Eligibility requirements

For Research Fellowship and PhD routes, applicants generally need a master's degree or equivalent completed by 31 July 2027 (30 June 2027 for ETH Zurich), must have been born after 31 December 1991, must prepare a detailed research plan, and must secure a letter of support from an eligible academic supervisor in Switzerland. Applicants must also satisfy any country-specific conditions in the official A–Z list.
