Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Systems Engineer based in India. This is a hands-on infrastructure role focused on keeping Azure, Windows Server, and middleware environments stable, secure, and available. You’ll own day-to-day monitoring, incident resolution, application deployments, approved changes, and proactive system health activities. The role combines cloud administration, Windows and application support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ITIL-based service management. You’ll also have a strong mandate to identify repetitive manual work and replace it with PowerShell, Azure automation, and AI-enabled operational tools. Working alongside engineering and database teams, you’ll take ownership of your operational queue while escalating issues appropriately and contributing to major incident response. The position offers the opportunity to help build AI agents for alert triage, log summarization, incident documentation, and other routine operational activities. Success in this role requires technical depth, operational discipline, clear communication, and a proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Administer Azure infrastructure, including provisioning, resizing, decommissioning, configuration, resource tagging, cost optimization, and policy compliance. Support Azure PaaS workloads such as App Services, including deployments, configuration, scaling, and restarts. Own the alert queue during assigned shifts, monitoring LogicMonitor, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and enterprise monitoring platforms while responding within established SLAs. Investigate alerts using KQL, Application Insights telemetry, Windows Event Logs, and Azure diagnostic tools. Identify duplicate, ineffective, or non-actionable alerts and recommend improvements to thresholds, aggregation, and suppression rules. Maintain monitoring coverage, identify unavailable monitoring agents or unmonitored resources, and maintain dashboards and workbooks that provide visibility into system health. Resolve incidents end to end and support major incidents through diagnostics, evidence gathering, communication, and timely escalation. Contribute to root-cause analysis by collecting logs and timelines, documenting findings, and implementing assigned corrective actions. Conduct proactive health checks across applications, servers, and Azure resources, including disk, CPU, memory, service status, certificates, and backups. Track recurring incidents, raise problem records, perform performance troubleshooting, and help improve long-term system stability. Write and maintain PowerShell scripts for provisioning, health checks, reporting, scheduled tasks, cleanup, and other routine administrative activities. Build or support automation using Azure Automation Runbooks, Logic Apps, and Power Automate, including appropriate authentication and failure monitoring. Contribute to AI-agent initiatives supporting log summarization, alert classification, incident-note creation, and knowledge-base or runbook queries. Apply prompt engineering to accelerate scripts, configurations, and documentation while validating AI-generated outputs before production use. Administer Windows Server across Azure and hybrid environments, including IIS application pools, bindings, virtual directories, logs, and basic performance troubleshooting. Manage SSL/TLS certificates, including renewal, installation, bindings, certificate stores, and expiry monitoring. Support high-availability configurations such as Windows Failover Clustering and SQL Server Always On in collaboration with engineering and database teams. Follow ITIL incident, problem, and change-management processes through ServiceNow and maintain accurate change documentation. Maintain and improve runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge articles, and provide clear shift handovers and stakeholder updates during incidents. Requirements 4–6 years of experience in systems administration, application and infrastructure support, or cloud operations. At least 4 years of hands-on production experience administering Azure; lab, training, or certification-only experience is not sufficient. At least 3 years of production Windows Server administration experience. Experience working in SLA-driven, ticket-based support environments. Availability and willingness to work rotating 24×7 shifts , including planned maintenance windows and change events. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational background; healthcare or other regulated-industry experience is preferred. Strong experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS administration, Windows Server, IIS, and SSL/TLS certificate management. Practical experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics, including the ability to read and write basic KQL queries. Strong PowerShell scripting skills, with the ability to independently write and modify scripts. Experience with ITIL-based incident, problem, and change-management processes and ServiceNow or comparable ticketing platforms. Practical experience using AI/LLM tools in a professional environment, with at least one demonstrated example of automating or eliminating manual work. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose technical issues and identify recurring problems. Clear written and spoken English, including the ability to communicate technical incidents to non-technical stakeholders. Reliable, organized, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership while escalating issues or requesting support when appropriate. Required certification: AZ-104 — Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate . Preferred certifications include AZ-900, AI-900, ITIL Foundation, MCSA, or an equivalent Windows Server certification. Benefits Fully remote position based in Pune or Baroda, India . Full-time opportunity within a global healthcare technology environment. Hands-on exposure to Azure, Windows Server, middleware, automation, monitoring, and AI-enabled operations. Opportunity to contribute to the development of AI agents and modern automation solutions for IT operations. Collaborative work with engineering, database, and application teams. Structured environment with opportunities to improve processes, documentation, monitoring, and system reliability. Professional development opportunities across cloud infrastructure, automation, AI, and enterprise technology. Inclusive workplace committed to equal opportunity and a diverse workforce. Employee support and accessibility accommodations available throughout the recruitment process.
