Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist | Medical Billing Expert based in Norway. This full-time remote role combines hands-on medical billing expertise with talent acquisition to identify and assess skilled revenue cycle management professionals. You will leverage your practical experience across the full billing cycle to distinguish qualified candidates from those who lack the necessary technical knowledge. Working closely with talent acquisition and partner success teams, you will source, screen, and recommend professionals supporting U.S. physical, occupational, and speech therapy practices. Your expertise will help ensure that each candidate matches the operational needs of the practice they may join. You will also contribute to improving assessment methods, strengthening recruitment processes, and building reliable candidate pipelines. This is an opportunity to apply your billing knowledge in a people-focused role while helping healthcare practices maintain efficient operations and deliver quality patient care.
You will manage the candidate evaluation process from sourcing through hiring coordination, applying your medical billing expertise to assess technical capabilities, support recruitment decisions, and maintain high-quality candidate experiences. Source and build talent pipelines: Identify qualified medical billing and revenue cycle management (RCM) candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, and direct outreach. Write and update job postings that reflect partner practices’ requirements, maintain a steady pipeline, and accurately track candidate activity in the applicant tracking system. Conduct technical screening: Review resumes for full-cycle billing experience, payer knowledge, electronic medical record (EMR) systems, clearinghouse usage, and therapy-specific billing expertise. Assess billing proficiency: Lead screening calls that evaluate candidates’ understanding of claim workflows, explanation of benefits (EOBs), denial reasons, appeals, payment posting, and accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up. Evaluate candidate readiness: Administer and score role-specific skills assessments using established call guides and scoring rubrics. Identify inconsistencies between candidates’ stated experience and demonstrated knowledge, and flag potential concerns early. Recommend qualified candidates: Provide clear, evidence-based written evaluations highlighting each candidate’s strengths, development areas, risks, and readiness for a role. Match candidates to partner needs: Understand each practice’s billing workflows, payer mix, and technology systems to recommend professionals suited to its operational requirements. Coordinate hiring activities: Present shortlisted candidates to the internal team, arrange interviews, manage follow-ups, and support next steps, offer coordination, onboarding handoffs, and replacement searches when necessary. Improve recruitment quality: Refine billing assessments, practical scenarios, and scoring standards based on candidate performance and industry observations. Share hiring insights: Communicate recruitment trends to leadership, identifying common candidate strengths and gaps to inform sourcing strategies. Maintain professional standards: Ensure timely, respectful candidate communication and safeguard candidate and partner information in accordance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements. Requirements: The ideal candidate has substantial hands-on medical billing experience and can confidently evaluate whether other professionals possess the practical knowledge required for healthcare revenue cycle roles. Strong communication, sound judgment, and independent work habits are essential. At least 5 years of hands-on medical billing experience covering the full revenue cycle, including charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, denials, appeals, and A/R follow-up. Strong working knowledge of payer requirements, EOB interpretation, reimbursement rules, and common claim denial reasons. Ability to explain billing workflows clearly, ask probing follow-up questions, and assess whether candidates’ responses demonstrate genuine practical experience. Confidence conducting live screening calls and evaluating candidates against role-specific technical requirements. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through across multiple candidates and open positions. Ability to work independently, prioritize daily responsibilities, and manage competing recruitment needs without close supervision. A reliable home office, stable internet connection, and quiet, professional workspace. Preferred qualifications: Previous experience in recruiting, human resources, or talent acquisition, particularly in healthcare or remote staffing. Medical billing experience in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy practices. Familiarity with therapy EMR and billing platforms such as WebPT, Prompt, Raintree, or similar systems. Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, workers’ compensation, and out-of-network billing. Experience training, auditing, or leading other medical billers. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, Google Workspace, and cloud-based communication tools. Key qualities for success: Strong billing judgment: Ability to recognize whether candidates genuinely understand billing processes and can explain how they resolve real-world claim issues. Ownership: Commitment to moving open roles forward and understanding the operational impact of every hiring decision. Integrity: Willingness to provide honest, objective assessments, even when qualified candidates are difficult to find. Empathy: A respectful, considerate approach that recognizes the candidate’s experience throughout the recruitment process. Reliability: Consistent communication, accurate updates, and dependable follow-through with colleagues and partners. Benefits: Competitive salary commensurate with experience. The listing displays a salary range of $10–$12 , but does not specify the currency or pay period. Full-time remote work as part of the internal team, rather than a placement with a client. Opportunities for professional development and long-term career growth. A collaborative and supportive team environment that values practical medical billing expertise. The opportunity to make a meaningful impact by connecting healthcare practices with skilled professionals who help maintain revenue cycle performance and support patient care.
