Conduct ad hoc tax research and contribute to projects involving new countries, business expansions, and new operational models. Monitor changes in VAT legislation and assess their potential impact on the organization. Identify and implement process improvements that increase the efficiency and accuracy of VAT reporting. Perform VAT number checks and maintain accurate VAT records for invoicing and reporting purposes. Partner with tax technology specialists to ensure the accuracy and reliability of source data used for VAT processes. Requirements Professional experience within a tax department, ideally in a Big Four or similar environment with a focus on tax compliance and reporting. Practical experience preparing and filing tax or VAT returns. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related discipline. Professional tax or accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, CPA, or equivalent is highly valued. Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies, interpret tax requirements, and work accurately with financial data. Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Strong understanding of VAT compliance and reporting principles, ideally across multiple jurisdictions. Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is advantageous but not essential. Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across finance, tax, accounting, and technology teams. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, complex, and internationally distributed environment. Proactive, highly accountable, and motivated by quality and continuous improvement. Fluent written and spoken English. Previous experience working remotely is not required but is considered a plus.
