Join a fully remote tax, accounting, and advisory environment dedicated to helping healthcare practice owners and growing service businesses achieve financial stability and long-term wealth. As Tax Manager, you will oversee a substantial portfolio of tax clients, ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality tax return preparation and review. Beyond compliance, you will play a strategic advisory role, identifying tax-saving opportunities and developing personalized plans that support clients' financial goals. You will lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals, encouraging them to think beyond the numbers and recognize valuable planning opportunities. Working directly with executive leadership, you will have the autonomy to improve processes, strengthen client relationships, and drive measurable results. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced tax professional who enjoys combining technical expertise, people leadership, and forward-thinking tax strategy. With a flexible remote structure and a strong emphasis on proactive planning, you can make a meaningful impact on both client outcomes and business growth.

As Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a multi-million-dollar portfolio of tax engagements, balancing operational excellence, client advisory services, and team development. Your focus will extend beyond tax compliance to proactive planning, helping clients make informed financial decisions while ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. Tax return oversight and quality assurance: Manage the preparation and review of individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with applicable regulations, and timely delivery. Target review completion within three days and return delivery within two weeks. Tax planning and advisory: Develop customized Tax Savings Blueprints for every eligible client, identifying opportunities to reduce tax liabilities, improve financial efficiency, and support long-term wealth creation. Client relationship management: Lead tax planning discussions with healthcare practice owners and other business clients, translating complex tax concepts into clear, practical recommendations that inform business and personal financial decisions. Annual tax planning: Coordinate year-end tax planning meetings with all applicable clients before December 31, ensuring proactive recommendations are identified and implemented where appropriate. Team leadership and development: Coach and mentor tax preparers, strengthening technical capabilities and encouraging them to identify planning opportunities during the tax return preparation process. Portfolio and workflow management: Oversee a substantial book of tax business, managing deadlines, workloads, and resources to ensure engagements are completed on time, within budget, and to established quality standards. Operational performance: Establish clear expectations for turnaround times, quality, and client satisfaction while identifying opportunities to improve workflows, review processes, and overall team efficiency. Strategic collaboration: Report directly to executive leadership, contribute to the firm's continued growth, and support a culture that prioritizes advisory services alongside tax compliance. Client service excellence: Build trusted relationships through responsive communication, reliable execution, and proactive recommendations that help clients make confident financial decisions. Requirements We are seeking an experienced tax professional with strong technical expertise, proven leadership capabilities, and a genuine passion for strategic tax planning. The ideal candidate combines meticulous attention to detail with the ability to manage a high-volume workload, develop a strong team, and communicate complex tax matters in straightforward, actionable terms. An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) license. At least six years of public accounting experience, including substantial hands-on tax preparation and review responsibilities. Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing a tax preparation or accounting team. Strong knowledge of individual, corporate, and partnership taxation, including the ability to review complex returns and identify potential issues. Proven experience in tax planning, tax strategy development, and client advisory services. Ability to identify tax-saving opportunities and translate them into practical recommendations that support clients' business and personal financial goals. Experience managing multiple client engagements, meeting strict deadlines, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to balance portfolio oversight, team workloads, and client expectations. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tax concepts in plain English to business owners and other non-specialist audiences. A proactive, strategic mindset with a genuine interest in helping clients optimize their financial outcomes beyond annual tax filing. A commitment to accountability, timely delivery, continuous improvement, and high-quality client service. Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while maintaining effective collaboration during shared core working hours. Residence in the United States and the ability to work remotely within the country. Additional advantages: Experience working with healthcare practices, medical professionals, or other service-based businesses. Familiarity with trust taxation. Fully remote work: Work from anywhere in the United States, with shared core hours to support team collaboration. Flexible schedule: Enjoy flexibility in organizing your working day around responsibilities and agreed team availability. Health coverage: Access to medical, dental, and vision insurance options. Company-paid life insurance: Additional financial protection through employer-provided life insurance. Retirement savings: A 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions.
