We are looking for a technically strong and collaborative leader to guide the architecture and development of enterprise integration solutions. In this remote role, you will shape engineering standards and build reliable, secure, and scalable backend services that connect critical business systems. You will work with technologies including F#, .NET, AWS, and infrastructure-as-code tools to deliver robust APIs and event-driven data pipelines. Partnering with finance, billing, procurement, and engineering teams, you will translate business needs into effective technical solutions. You will also mentor engineers, promote functional programming practices, and establish development processes that support long-term growth. This is an opportunity to influence integration architecture, strengthen engineering excellence, and contribute to complex technology initiatives across the organization.
Define and guide technical architecture, service patterns, API standards, and engineering practices for corporate integration solutions. Ensure that systems are secure, reliable, scalable, maintainable, and observable across their lifecycle. Design, develop, and maintain backend services, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and high-throughput data pipelines using F#, .NET, and AWS. Build and manage cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions. Collaborate with finance, billing, procurement, and other business stakeholders to gather requirements, define API contracts, establish technical scope, and prioritize delivery. Lead technical design discussions, conduct code reviews, and promote consistent engineering standards and high-quality software development practices. Mentor and coach engineers in F#, functional programming, and functional design principles. Support technical recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and the development of team capabilities. Partner with engineering leadership to maintain architectural consistency and align technical decisions across software integration teams. Identify opportunities to improve integration architecture, delivery processes, system performance, and operational reliability. Travel occasionally to Houston, Texas, for team and stakeholder meetings, as required, with travel expected to be limited to approximately three trips per year. Perform other related duties as needed to support team and business objectives. Requirements: Demonstrated hands-on production experience with F#, including the ability to guide and mentor engineering teams in functional programming. Strong backend development experience with .NET, RESTful APIs, distributed services, and event-driven systems. Practical experience with AWS cloud services, particularly ECS, Aurora, and related infrastructure. Experience integrating enterprise finance, billing, procurement, ERP, or other core business systems. Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi, along with experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows. Experience establishing engineering practices, building teams, or introducing technical standards and processes from the ground up. Strong understanding of software architecture, API design, security, scalability, reliability, and observability. A bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent professional experience. Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain technology is an advantage. Excellent technical leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, engineers, and technical leadership while balancing competing priorities. Willingness and ability to work remotely within the United States and travel occasionally to Houston, Texas. Professional certifications may be required for certain areas of responsibility. Ability to meet the role's physical requirements, including extended periods of sitting or standing, computer use, and close-vision tasks, with reasonable accommodations where applicable. Successful completion of required pre-employment screening, including substance testing and E-Verify verification, as applicable. Benefits: Work arrangement: Full-time remote position within the United States. Quarterly incentives: Eligibility for a quarterly incentive plan. Paid time off: 136 hours of PTO annually, equivalent to 17 days, available for sick time or personal use. Healthcare coverage: Medical, dental, and vision benefits. Recognition and rewards: Programs recognizing employee contributions and achievements. Community involvement: Paid volunteer time to support causes and community initiatives. Employee discounts: Access to employee discount programs. Wellness incentives: Opportunities to earn up to $100 per year by completing wellness challenges, along with potential discounts on contribution rates.
