Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Project Manager – Network Infrastructure based in India. In this role, you will drive the delivery of critical network infrastructure initiatives across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, helping build the foundations of a rapidly scaling AI cloud platform. Combining strong engineering knowledge with strategic project execution, you will turn complex technical challenges into clear, actionable plans and measurable outcomes. You will collaborate closely with network engineers, software developers, SREs, security specialists, platform teams, and external partners to improve reliability, automation, and operational efficiency. As an early contributor to the region's expansion, you will establish effective project management practices, coordinate distributed teams, and help shape infrastructure standards from the ground up. Beyond delivery, you will champion adoption by ensuring that new tools, workflows, and processes become trusted parts of everyday engineering operations. This is an opportunity to take real ownership, influence technical decisions, and contribute to the infrastructure powering next-generation AI services in a fast-paced, international environment.

Lead end-to-end delivery of cross-functional network infrastructure projects across APAC, translating ambiguous problem statements into executable plans and successful outcomes. Define project scope, objectives, milestones, dependencies, and success criteria while aligning stakeholders across SRE, software engineering, networking, security, platform, and data center teams. Review technical designs and proposals, challenge assumptions, identify potential failure modes, and proactively manage delivery risks and dependencies. Drive technical decisions to resolution, maintain accountability across teams, and ensure initiatives progress from planning through implementation, rollout, and adoption. Establish and implement lightweight, effective project management practices for the region, including planning, prioritization, progress reviews, stakeholder communication, and post-launch follow-up. Coordinate activities across APAC and European teams, providing clear and transparent status updates while managing cross-team dependencies and time zone differences. Promote adoption of internal infrastructure tools and workflows through effective documentation, operational runbooks, stakeholder engagement, feedback loops, and change management. Collaborate with regional teams and external partners, including vendors and network carriers, to deliver new network capabilities and support infrastructure expansion. Translate operational challenges and engineering feedback into a prioritized project backlog that addresses reliability, automation, observability, and operational safety. Oversee initiatives involving network automation, secrets and access management, service-level objectives (SLOs), network device CI/CD, firmware rollouts, monitoring improvements, and production readiness. Ensure that delivered solutions are operationally sustainable, with clear ownership, actionable alerts, reliable rollback procedures, and workflows that engineers and operations teams can confidently use. Requirements At least 7 years of experience in technical project management, engineering management, or hands-on engineering roles involving SRE, software engineering, networking, or infrastructure, with a proven record of delivering complex, cross-functional technical projects. A strong engineering background, including experience building and operating production systems and the ability to establish credibility with highly technical teams. Ability to interpret technical design documents and proposals, assess architectural trade-offs, and ask informed questions about reliability, failure scenarios, rollback strategies, and blast-radius control. Solid understanding of infrastructure fundamentals, including Linux, networking, automation, and CI/CD, sufficient to engage confidently in technical discussions and evaluate implementation approaches. Demonstrated ability to drive decisions, clarify responsibilities, manage dependencies, and deliver results in ambiguous, rapidly evolving environments without relying on formal authority. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document plans and decisions clearly, communicate risks transparently, and influence technical stakeholders. Experience working independently, establishing processes from scratch, and bringing structure to early-stage or fast-scaling technical organizations. Professional working proficiency in English, both spoken and written, and the ability to collaborate effectively across international teams and time zones. Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on execution, accountability, and measurable outcomes. Experience with network infrastructure, network automation, observability, or network device lifecycle management is a strong advantage. Familiarity with SLI/SLO frameworks, incident management, production readiness, and reliability engineering practices is desirable. Experience managing CI/CD or change management for network devices or other critical infrastructure, including staged deployments, validation, rollback, and risk mitigation, is preferred. Additional experience with distributed APAC teams, secrets and access management, firmware rollouts, fleet-wide operational improvements, or hands-on scripting and automation will be considered a plus. Benefits Competitive compensation: A competitive remuneration package aligned with experience and role responsibilities. Career development: Opportunities to expand technical expertise, develop project leadership capabilities, and grow within a rapidly evolving AI infrastructure environment. Flexibility and autonomy: Significant ownership over initiatives, with the freedom to establish regional processes and influence how projects are delivered. Meaningful technical impact: The opportunity to shape network infrastructure, automation, reliability standards, and operational practices that support advanced AI services. Collaborative culture: Work alongside talented engineers and technical specialists across multiple disciplines and international locations. Learning opportunities: Exposure to complex infrastructure challenges, emerging technologies, and large-scale AI cloud systems. International environment: Collaborate with distributed teams and external partners across APAC and other global regions. Innovation and ownership: Contribute to foundational projects in a fast-moving organization where initiative, bold thinking, and measurable impact are valued.
