Overview
The Teijin Scholarship Foundation is recruiting around 10 Kumura Scholars who plan to enter doctoral programs at Japanese universities in autumn 2027 or April 2028 in science, engineering, information, medicine, life-science and related fields.
Complete scholarship details
Applications must arrive by 24 September 2026 and are submitted by email. Recipients receive JPY 100,000 per month from April 2028 through the month of completion of the regular doctoral program. Other scholarships may be held concurrently, there is no employment obligation to the Teijin Group, and domestic travel expenses for the final interview are covered.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be graduate students in medicine/life sciences, science, engineering, information or related fields who are expected or confirmed to enter a doctoral program at a Japanese university in September/October 2027 or April 2028 and have a recommendation from their academic supervisor. International students may apply under the foundation's stated institutional procedure.
