Temporary Safety Supervisor

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Temporary Safety Supervisor based in the United States. The Temporary Safety Supervisor will support turnaround, outage, and project assignments across the United States, helping ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality field operations. This role provides hands-on safety leadership across temporary project environments and works closely with employees, management, clients, and safety professionals. You will promote a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, reinforcing safe work practices, and ensuring employees have the training and resources needed to work safely. The position also leads incident investigations, safety assessments, audits, and corrective action initiatives. Assignments may vary in duration depending on project requirements and business demand. This is an opportunity for an experienced field safety professional with strong NDT knowledge to make a direct impact across dynamic industrial operations.

Promote and uphold high standards of ethics, integrity, safety, quality, and corporate responsibility while serving as a visible safety leader across assigned project environments. Communicate actively with employees, supervisors, and management at all levels to strengthen a workplace culture that recognizes hazards, minimizes risk, and empowers employees to refuse unsafe work. Ensure employees complete appropriate hazard assessments for each job and understand required safety procedures, controls, and expectations before work begins. Ensure teams have access to appropriate safety equipment, required training, documented procedures, and other resources necessary to perform work safely and effectively. Conduct ongoing workforce safety assessments and oversee safety audits and inspections covering facilities, operations, equipment, and work processes. Lead and manage investigations of safety incidents, including root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, management review discussions, incident reporting, and communication of lessons learned throughout the relevant region. Serve as a liaison with client safety personnel, participating in pre-job meetings, post-job reviews, and performance discussions while gathering feedback to support continuous safety improvement. Provide safety training and guidance to employees and management across assigned operational areas, reinforcing regulatory requirements and safe work practices. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, including OSHA, EPA, USDOT, NIOSH, traffic safety, workers' compensation, and other relevant regulations. Partner with senior safety leadership to establish annual safety objectives, measurable goals, implementation schedules, and initiatives aligned with regulatory and organizational expectations. Maintain required safety training records, DOT documentation, compliance files, and other operational safety records in an accurate and timely manner. Support project supervision, peer review, worker training, and procedural compliance while maintaining a strong focus on timely, high-quality client service. Carry out additional safety, operational, and project-related responsibilities as directed by the Site Manager. Requirements: At least 5 years of field service experience within relevant regional client industries, such as petrochemical, mining, or comparable industrial environments. Previous experience in an occupational safety leadership position or substantial field safety role, with demonstrated ability to lead safety initiatives in active operational environments. Thorough knowledge and practical understanding of OSHA requirements as they apply to a non-destructive testing (NDT) environment. Strong technical background in NDT methods and procedures, with the ability to understand field operations and identify associated safety risks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with field employees, management, clients, and other stakeholders. Strong leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with an energetic, proactive, and team-oriented approach. Ability to work independently, take initiative, identify emerging safety concerns, and drive corrective actions through completion. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word for documentation, reporting, recordkeeping, and safety-related administrative activities. Willingness and ability to support temporary project assignments whose duration may vary according to operational requirements and business demand.
