A 24-month fellowship for early-career researchers currently residing outside Germany to conduct a postdoctoral research project with a TUM host.

Successful fellows receive a €2,670 monthly stipend plus a €430 one-time kick-off payment. Fellows living in the Munich metropolitan area receive an additional €350 per month, and family benefits may be available. The TUM host co-finances 20% of fellowship costs. Call 6 fellows may start between 1 April 2027 and 1 April 2028.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must reside outside Germany when they apply. They must have completed a PhD at an institution other than TUM on or after 1 September 2023, or be able to complete the doctorate within the next 12 months with an official supervisor confirmation. Current TUM researchers and people who received their doctorate at TUM are not eligible. A TUM host is required in Phase II.
