The Resilient Economy and Security through Ecosystem Transitions programme supports research into how, when and why ecosystems transition, reorganise or collapse. NERC funds 80% of full economic cost. Projects can run for up to three years and must start by 14 February 2027.

Eligibility requirements

The project lead must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for NERC funding. Research groups and individuals at any career stage may apply subject to NERC eligibility. International researchers may participate as eligible project co-leads (international) or project partners under the official rules.
