The first pilot call will provide six institutional grants of up to USD $2,000 each to eligible researchers based at recognized universities or research institutes in Africa. local fieldwork and research travel
data collection, processing or secure storage
minor equipment repair or essential short-term access to equipment or facilities
laboratory, publication or open-access costs
The grant does not cover salary replacement, honoraria or personal allowances, international relocation or long-term subsistence, major equipment or construction, institutional overheads, or activities unrelated to the interrupted research.

Tips for this grant
Practical JobOpportunity guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
