The University of Iceland is recruiting a full-time Assistant Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering for research, teaching, graduate supervision, research-funding activity and academic administration.
Full job description
The role allocates academic duties across research (40%), teaching (48%) and administration (12%). Responsibilities include internationally recognized research and peer-reviewed publication, undergraduate and graduate teaching and course development, supervision of graduate students, acquisition of research funding, and committee or other administrative service. The university expects the successful applicant to start as soon as possible and no later than 1 August 2027. The initial appointment is for five years, with a possibility of a permanent appointment under University of Iceland rules.
Requirements & qualifications
Applicants need a PhD in electrical and computer engineering or a related field, relevant research experience and peer-reviewed publications, strong communication skills, and good written and spoken English. Expertise in computer engineering, electrical power engineering, control engineering or electronics is advantageous; university-level teaching experience is desirable.
