  • Equine work including vaccinations, dentistry and occasional colic cases
  • Small animal caseload including dogs, cats and rabbits
  • Two-site practice with a main hub in Aberfeldy and branch practice in Pitlochry
  • Experienced and supportive team including 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 3 RVNs, a Student Veterinary Nurse and 6 support colleagues
  • Digital radiography and ultrasound facilities
  • Ovacyte faecal analyser and stance analyser

Surrounded by mountains, rivers and lochs, the area is ideal for those who enjoy outdoor living, with opportunities for hill walking, cycling, paddleboarding, rafting and exploring nearby Munros.

Highland Perthshire combines a strong sense of community with excellent accessibility to Perth, Dundee, Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh, offering the perfect balance of rural living and modern convenience.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll play an important role in delivering high-quality clinical care across a varied mixed caseload while contributing to a supportive and collaborative team environment.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop your interests across small animal, farm and equine work, building strong client relationships and making a meaningful impact within the local community.

  • Flexible working patterns available, including condensed hours and school-hour arrangements where possible
  • No routine weekend commitments outside of the out-of-hours rota
  • 1 in 5 out-of-hours rota covering weekends and weeknights
  • Time off in lieu provided following weekend out-of-hours commitments

General Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical care across small animal, farm and equine cases
  • Manage consultations, surgical procedures and emergency presentations
  • Participate in the out-of-hours rota
  • Work collaboratively across both practice sites to support continuity of care
  • Build strong client relationships across a diverse rural community
  • Contribute positively to a supportive and team-focused clinical culture

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

You are a confident and motivated Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys the variety and challenge of mixed practice. You’ll bring:

  • A Veterinary degree and registration with the RCVS
