Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President of Data and Analytics based in the United States. The Vice President of Data and Analytics will lead the strategy, delivery, and operational maturity of a growing Data & Analytics organization. This executive leadership role focuses on building scalable internal capabilities across data engineering, business intelligence, analytics, and governance. You will translate business priorities into actionable technology initiatives that improve operational performance and decision-making. Working closely with senior executives and cross-functional teams, you will oversee the development of a modern cloud data platform and strengthen data quality, security, and integration practices. You will also lead organizational development, optimize resources, and reduce reliance on external contractors. This is an opportunity to shape a data-driven culture while delivering scalable solutions that enhance business processes and customer experiences.
As Vice President of Data and Analytics, you will oversee the organization’s strategic execution, technical delivery, and team development while ensuring that data capabilities support broader business objectives. Translate executive vision into staffing plans, delivery roadmaps, quarterly priorities, and measurable outcomes for the Data & Analytics organization. Partner with senior executives and business leaders to align data, analytics, and technology initiatives with enterprise strategy. Communicate complex technical concepts and their business implications clearly, influencing strategic decisions and fostering cross-functional alignment. Lead end-to-end delivery of a Microsoft Fabric medallion architecture, covering bronze, silver, gold, and semantic layers, in collaboration with data engineering and architecture leaders. Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team across data engineering, analytics and business intelligence, data governance, and quality assurance. Drive performance management, career development, organizational design, and the development of high-performing technical teams. Collaborate with stakeholders across property operations, finance, and technology to prioritize reporting, analytics, cross-platform integrations, and business process improvements. Establish and enforce data governance, quality, and security standards across more than 30 source integrations, including Yardi, RealPage, UKG, and Salesforce. Evaluate and implement AI-assisted development and analytics tools, such as Claude and CodeRabbit, to improve engineering productivity and delivery speed. Report roadmap progress, delivery risks, and organizational health to senior executive leadership. Manage vendors, contractors, budgets, and resource allocation, including decisions involving managed services and staff augmentation. Define architectural and coding standards in partnership with the Lead Data Architect to ensure long-term scalability and maintainability. Support a growing, newly established department through evolving priorities, organizational change, and continuous improvement. Requirements: The ideal candidate combines extensive experience in data and analytics leadership with strong technical expertise, executive communication skills, and a proven ability to build and scale high-performing teams. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may substitute for formal education. At least 12 years of progressive experience in data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence, including at least five years in a people-management or leadership role. At least five years of experience with modern cloud data platforms, such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, or equivalent technologies, and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Strong knowledge of modern data architecture patterns, including medallion and lakehouse architectures, data governance frameworks, and BI and semantic modeling practices. Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and retain high-performing technical teams, particularly in a rebuilding, transformation, or turnaround environment. Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical strategies into clear business priorities for non-technical stakeholders. Experience managing vendors, negotiating contracts, and optimizing external services and staff augmentation arrangements. Ability to operate effectively in an evolving environment with ambiguity, changing priorities, and expanding responsibilities. Working knowledge of AI-assisted development and analytics tools and their potential to improve team productivity. Experience in multifamily housing, real estate, or another property-operations-driven industry is an advantage but is not required. Ability to work remotely from a dedicated, distraction-free workspace with reliable internet access. Willingness to travel overnight approximately quarterly for business purposes. Ability to meet the role’s physical requirements, including extended periods of sitting, operating standard office equipment, reading digital and printed materials, and occasionally lifting or carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds. Successful completion of a background check, as required by applicable local, state, and federal regulations. A valid driver’s license is preferred; candidates without one may be provided with a liability waiver. Benefits: Comprehensive healthcare coverage for eligible full-time, regular associates. Employer-paid employee assistance, mental health, and wellness programs. Additional insurance options, including critical illness, hospital indemnity, and accident coverage. 401(k) retirement plan with a company match. Paid time off, floating holidays, and volunteer days. Professional development opportunities, career growth pathways, and role-based learning plans. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging initiatives and multiple Employee Resource Groups. Discounts on Costco memberships, movie tickets, health and wellness services, entertainment, and travel. Weekly pay for associates working onsite at apartment communities, where applicable.
