Full job description

ROLE OVERVIEW StoryCo is looking for a Voice Acting Coordinator to join our globally distributed team. In this role, you will coordinate the end-to-end voice production process for our video and motion comic adaptations, working closely with script specialists, voice agencies, and internal creative teams to bring characters and stories to life. You’ll be at the center of the voice production workflow — coordinating people, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring scripts and recordings are ready on time, quality standards are met, and any production issues are resolved smoothly. This position is ideal for a highly organized and proactive coordinator who is a native Japanese speaker with excellent English communication skills — someone who enjoys working across creative teams, can manage multiple moving parts, and takes ownership of delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced production environment. This role is fully-onsite in Ho Chi Minh City and fully remote for candidates based elsewhere in Vietnam or Japan. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES JAPANESE VOICE ACTING PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Own and manage the Japanese voice production workflow from script readiness through final delivery, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the required quality standard.
  • Coordinate the work of Japanese Script Freelancers and ensure priorities, timelines, and deliverables are clearly aligned.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks or delays, and take timely action to keep production on track.
  • Coordinate voice production activities with the Japanese agency, ensuring recording schedules, deliverables, and revisions are properly managed. VOICE ACTING QUALITY CONTROL
  • Conduct final quality checks of Japanese scripts, performance guidance, and voice outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and production readiness.
  • Review Japanese voice outputs for language quality, pronunciation, completeness, character consistency, and overall suitability for the final product.
  • Identify quality issues and coordinate corrections, pickups, or re-recordings with the Japanese agency when required.
  • Ensure Japanese voice materials meet the required quality standards before being integrated into the final production. ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
  • Act as the main point of contact between the internal production team and the Japanese agency, ensuring clear and timely communication throughout the production process.
  • Communicate production requirements, timelines, quality expectations, and feedback to the agency and follow up on agreed actions.
  • Coordinate with the agency on casting progress, recording, deliverables, revisions, and other production matters while keeping ownership of talent sourcing and casting with the agency.
  • Address production issues, negotiate solutions, and maintain a constructive working relationship with the agency.
  • Monitor agency performance and identify opportunities to improve quality, responsiveness, and overall collaboration. PROCESS & WORKFLOW DEVELOPMENT
  • Identify recurring production issues and develop improvements to make the Japanese voice production workflow more efficient, consistent, and scalable.
  • Establish and maintain clear processes, standards, and documentation for Japanese voice production and quality control.
  • Provide input on tools, automation, and AI-enabled workflows that could improve production efficiency and quality. JOB REQUIREMENT MUST-HAVE
  • Native Japanese speaker with excellent command of Japanese, including grammar, nuance, tone, and natural written language.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in project management, production management, localization, voice production, agency management, or related fields.
  • Exceptional command of English, both spoken and written (able to work with international teams).
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deadlines.
  • Experience coordinating external agencies, vendors, freelancers, or production partners.
  • Strong quality-control mindset and ability to identify issues in Japanese content and voice outputs.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage cross-functional and cross-cultural relationships. NICE-TO-HAVE
  • Experience working directly with Japanese voice actors, talent agencies, or recording studios.
  • Experience in anime, manga, gaming, dubbing, or entertainment content production.
  • Experience managing cross-border or remote international production.
  • Familiarity with localization platforms, AI translation tools, or content production workflows.
  • Familiarity with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) or audio editing tools.
  • Experience working in cross-border or remote international teams. BENEFITS
  • Compensation & Bonuses: Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses.
  • Creative, Fast-Paced Environment: Join a high-energy startup environment that empowers you to do your best work with autonomy and accountability. You’ll be encouraged to think critically, improve creative systems, and help shape a studio culture that values experimentation, feedback, and fast execution.
  • Exciting Projects: Play a key role in adapting some of the world’s most beloved comic IPs into immersive video experiences - stories with millions of fans.
