Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a VP, Finance based in the United States. As VP, Finance, you will lead financial strategy and serve as a trusted strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team. You will oversee financial planning, forecasting, capital allocation, business performance, and long-term financial strategy to support sustainable growth. Combining analytical rigor with strong commercial judgment, you will help leadership identify investment opportunities, optimize profitability, and make informed strategic decisions. You will also lead fundraising activities, manage investor and Board communications, and prepare the organization for future capital events. As the business scales, you will build a high-performing Finance function supported by modern systems, automation, and AI-driven processes. This remote leadership opportunity offers significant ownership and the chance to shape financial strategy within a rapidly growing, technology-driven business.
You will own the company's financial strategy, guide critical business decisions, and build the people, processes, and infrastructure needed to support its next phase of growth. Strategic financial leadership: Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team on growth strategy, profitability, investment priorities, resource allocation, and financial trade-offs. Capital allocation and commercial strategy: Apply financial rigor to pricing, monetization, new product development, market expansion, partnerships, headcount planning, and other strategic investments. Capital strategy and transactions: Lead fundraising, debt and liquidity strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, while cultivating relationships with investors and lenders. Board and investor relations: Develop and communicate a compelling financial narrative for the Board, investors, lenders, and strategic partners, translating complex financial information into actionable insights. Financial planning and forecasting: Own quarterly forecasts, long-range financial models, scenario planning, and the company's financial operating cadence. Business performance analysis: Develop a deep understanding of revenue drivers, margins, customer economics, pricing, payment economics, and cash flow to identify opportunities and risks. Financial reporting and governance: Lead financial reporting and strengthen controls, audit readiness, governance frameworks, and processes required to support future capital events and potential public-company readiness. Finance organization development: Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Finance team, attracting exceptional talent and establishing clear accountability and execution standards. Systems and process optimization: Modernize Finance through AI, automation, scalable data infrastructure, and efficient processes that improve productivity without creating unnecessary bureaucracy. Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Accounting, Treasury, Legal, and external advisors to strengthen financial operations, manage risk, and support responsible growth. Strategic execution: Balance long-term financial planning with hands-on operational leadership, providing clear recommendations and decisive guidance in a fast-moving environment. Requirements: The ideal candidate combines extensive financial leadership experience with exceptional modeling skills, commercial judgment, and the ability to build scalable Finance functions in high-growth technology businesses. At least 12 years of experience across investment banking, private equity, growth equity, corporate finance, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), strategic finance, or a related field. Significant experience working in high-growth technology companies. Experience leading a Finance function or a major Finance department within a technology, SaaS, marketplace, fintech, or similarly complex business. Investment banking or private equity experience, including hands-on valuation, transaction execution, and capital markets exposure, is strongly preferred. Exceptional financial modeling capabilities, including three-statement modeling, unit economics, cash flow analysis, and capital allocation. Proven experience developing financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analytical infrastructure in rapidly scaling organizations. Demonstrated ability to evaluate pricing strategies, monetization opportunities, new products, investments, headcount, and other business decisions. Strong track record of presenting complex financial information to Boards, investors, CEOs, and executive teams in a clear, persuasive, and decision-oriented manner. Experience working directly with a CEO, executive leadership team, and Board on strategic and financial priorities. Proven ability to recruit, lead, and develop high-performing Finance teams while creating structure and processes in evolving environments. Strong commercial instincts and a business-oriented mindset, using Finance to improve decisions and drive outcomes rather than simply report historical performance. Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels, with a high standard of execution and a bias toward action. Sound judgment, independent thinking, and the confidence to develop and communicate clear recommendations. Experience introducing automation, AI tools, or modern financial systems to improve efficiency and scalability is valuable. Benefits: Annual base salary ranging from $300,000 to $375,000, depending on experience, expertise, and location. Equity compensation available to all employees. Potential eligibility for an annual performance bonus, depending on the role. Remote work opportunities within a flexible hybrid-hub operating model. Access to a competitive benefits package, with specific offerings depending on employment type and location. The opportunity to shape financial strategy and lead a Finance organization through a significant growth phase. A high-ownership environment that encourages ambitious thinking, innovation, and collaboration with experienced colleagues.
