CEITEC Masaryk University — Gabriel Demo Research Group Opportunities

The project combines molecular virology, biochemistry, quantitative proteomics and structural biology to study how viruses coordinate genome replication with protein synthesis. The position includes a part-time employment contract complemented by a PhD stipend, access to advanced cryo-electron microscopy infrastructure and training across structural biology, molecular virology and translation research. The expected start is February 2027, subject to negotiation and the spring-semester schedule.

Applicants should hold an MSc or equivalent in biochemistry, virology or structural biology, have relevant wet-lab experience, theoretical knowledge of single-particle cryo-EM or cryo-electron tomography, and good spoken and written English. Cryo-EM and data-analysis experience are advantageous.
