Ntu Opportunity Grant: Unlocking Global Experiences

The NTU Opportunity Grant (NOG) empowers students to embark on a journey to becoming Global Citizens through exciting overseas immersions opportunities. The Office of Global Education & Mobility (OGEM) offers a wide variety of programmes ranging from a short-term immersion in the ASEAN region to a semester-long exchange in the Americas; catering to the different aspirations of every individual student. The NTU Opportunity Grant (NOG) is made possible by UOB and the Wee Foundation.

Each NOG Awardee is entitled to use up to S$10,000 to embark on credit bearing overseas immersion programmes offered by OGEM.

💰 Example: How You Can Use Your S$10,000 Nog Grant

With the NOG Grant, students may choose to go on a semester exchange to Australia or New Zealand, or utilise the grant for one or two short-term overseas programmes such as Winter Prelude or Language Immersion Programme.

The NTU–SYSU Winter Prelude was a truly eye-opening experience. Beyond academic exposure, I gained cultural insights, global perspectives, and meaningful friendships. The immersive learning and industry visits pushed me out of my comfort zone and inspired me to pursue more overseas experiences during my NTU journey.

The LIP program at LICMU not only gave me the opportunity to learn Thai, but also allowed me to use the basic language skills I acquired to connect with locals and build lasting friendships with our Thai buddies. Although the program lasted only three weeks, I was able to fully immerse myself in the richness of Thai culture. Overall, the trip was truly fun, meaningful, and unforgettable.

My exchange at the University of Technology Sydney was a time of peace, self-discovery and truly stepping out of my comfort zone. Thanks to NTU’s GEM Explorer programme, I was able to secure this opportunity and experience what became an important chapter of my university life. I had the privilege of travelling to Tasmania, Port Stephens and New Zealand, making new friends from around the world who broadened my perspective and challenged the way I see things. As someone who loves the beach, I cherished being so close to the ocean, and even got to try surfing for the first time, a small but powerful reminder of how much I’d grown.
