Government of India — Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Opportunities

The Embassy of India in Asmara states that 60 ITEC slots have been allotted to Eritrea for FY 2026–27. ITEC covers course or tuition fees, a living allowance, study tours, emergency medical assistance and return international airfare under programme rules. Courses and schedules are selected through the ITEC portal, so there is no single applicant deadline that safely applies to every course.

The Embassy's Eritrea-specific page states that applicants should be Eritrean nationals generally aged 25–45 who are working in government, semi-government, a private company, self-employed or another organization in Eritrea, possess the qualifications required by the selected course and have a working knowledge of English. The Embassy also notes the general restriction that an individual should normally avail an ITEC/ICCR Government of India scholarship only once.
