Applicants first identify and confirm an SJTU receiving supervisor. The supervisor signs a Visiting Student Program Clarification covering the duration and content of the research internship, then the relevant school coordinator nominates the student in SJTU's international student system. The student subsequently completes the online application for review.

International students who are currently enrolled at an overseas university and who secure an SJTU faculty supervisor for a suitable short-term research project. Programme-specific duration, project scope and admission details are agreed and processed through the receiving supervisor and school coordinator.
