Team Leader Business SupportThe Controller and Auditor-General aims to improve trust and confidence in public services by giving New Zealanders an independent view of government spending and performance. As the statutory auditor of all public organisations, from councils to schools, The Audit Office's work plays a major part in ensuring that our public sector remains one of the most trusted in the world.About the roleWe're looking for an experienced Team Leader Business Support to help lead and strengthen the Office's business support function. This role has shared accountability for the function's performance, capability, workforce planning, service standards, and continuous improvement across our seven office locations.You'll be turning organisational priorities into plans, work programmes, and service expectations, as well as advising the Director Infrastructure, Property and Business Services and senior leaders on service delivery, resourcing, risks, and future capability needs.In this role, you'll:jointly lead the office-wide business support function;lead a centralised team that provides consistent, responsive, and professional support;plan workforce, capacity, and resources so business support capability aligns with organisational priorities and anticipated demand;make sound decisions within delegated authority about workflow, priorities, coverage, and resource allocation across executive support and office support; andbuild trusted relationships with senior leaders, people leaders, specialist teams, and staff across the Office to understand priorities, shape expectations, and align services.To succeed in this role, you'll bring:significant experience leading administrative, executive support, business services, office operations, or shared services teams in a complex multi-site organisation;demonstrated people leadership experience (including recruitment, performance management, capability development, workforce planning, change leadership, and building an inclusive, high-performing culture); andthe ability to lead workforce and resource planning, balance competing demands, and maintain service continuity across multiple stakeholders and locations.We offer our staff:Ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.Supportive hybrid working arrangements (flexible hours/days).Health and well-being benefits.
