The IIIM Information Systems Management Section uses this generic job opening to build a pool for internships expected to start between 1 August 2026 and 31 July 2027. Work includes targeted open-source research and analysis, research-methodology and literature review, synthesis of political/economic/social/technological/legal issues related to Syria, and support for information governance, data analysis and script development. The official UN Careers page says internships can be conducted remotely or in person and are full-time.

Applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate programme, or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree. No prior work experience is required. Relevant study can include international relations, journalism, law, international politics, information governance, machine learning, AI, cybersecurity, information security, privacy/data protection, digital forensics, data science, engineering or software engineering. Fluency in spoken and written English is required; French and/or Arabic is an advantage.
