University Hospital Basel — Division of Clinical Epidemiology Opportunities

The candidate will help design, run and analyse a one-year pilot and a two-year cluster-randomized trial across 20 health facilities; refine the ComBaScale app for clinical decision support; coordinate site initiation and central data monitoring; co-draft statistical analysis and results manuscripts with first-authorship opportunities; train local staff and community health workers; and collaborate with the National University of Lesotho and Lesotho Ministry of Health. The position is based in Basel and includes recurring research stays in Lesotho, typically three to six months at a time. The planned duration is three to four years and the start is September 1, 2026 or by agreement.

Applicants need a medical degree (MD) with basic clinical experience, an interest in global health, epidemiology and clinical trials, comfort with digital tools and basic data management/analysis skills, willingness to undertake recurring fieldwork in rural Lesotho, and excellent spoken and written English. German is an asset but is not required for the consortium work.
