The Staff Accountant plays a key role in the month-end close process and will report to the GL Accounting Manager. What you'll do: Perform month-end close functions for multiple entities Prepare journal entries Analyze and book accruals for pending invoices, open purchase orders, contracts, and credit card transactions Reconcile, provide supporting documentation and detailed analysis for assigned balance sheet accounts Review and provide notes from detailed analysis to assigned cost center income statement for month over month and year over year variances Perform actual to budget/forecast Income Statement review for assigned cost center Cross train with accounting team on prepaids, fixed assets, and other functional areas as assigned Record cash transaction activity and reconcile all bank accounts Support financial and tax audits by providing PBC schedules and documentation as assigned Ensure procedures are in accordance with GAAP requirements and accounting department policies Perform ad hoc analysis as request About you: 2-4 years accounting experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal, listening and written communication skills Strong organizational and time-management skills Confident self-starter with a solid ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other departments Experience with ERP systems (Workday experience a plus) Demonstrated understanding of financial/accounting principles and systems Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel Additional Information The annual salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000. The salary range for performing this role outside of the US / Austin / California may differ.  8am is committed to offering competitive, fair and commensurate compensation and has provided an estimated pay range for this role.
