Opportunities from Chevening — Ethiopia

Chevening is the UK Government’s international scholarship programme for one-year taught master’s study. A standard full Chevening Scholarship covers tuition fees, approved economy travel to and from the applicant’s country of residence, an arrival allowance, the cost of the entry-clearance visa application, a departure allowance, a monthly living stipend, a travel top-up allowance, and up to £75 toward TB testing where required. The official Ethiopia country page confirms that the 2027–2028 round is currently open.

Applicants must satisfy the current Chevening eligibility rules, including citizenship of a Chevening-eligible country or territory, the applicable residence rule for ODA-eligible awards, a commitment to return to the country of award for at least two years after the scholarship, at least 2,800 hours of eligible work experience acquired after completing the undergraduate degree, and an undergraduate degree that qualifies for UK master’s study and was completed at least two years before the application deadline. Applicants must apply to three different eligible UK university courses and meet current programme exclusions and conditions.
