Opportunities from CIS El Salvador

CIS asks participants to commit at least 10 weeks and offers roles including English teaching, language-school marketing, women's businesses and empowerment, fair-trade crafts marketing, clean water and environment, and youth leadership development. Participants may gain practical project experience, cultural exchange and orientation support. CIS can help locate host-family housing, but volunteers and interns pay their own travel, housing, meals and local transportation. The page states a US$100 volunteer program fee. Election-observation volunteering is currently unavailable until further notice and is not represented as open here.

Most roles require advanced written and spoken Spanish; English-teaching and certain marketing roles are exceptions. English teachers must be highly fluent in English. Applicants must be able to commit at least 10 weeks, show cultural sensitivity and interest in social justice, collaborate with staff, and work independently when needed. Role-specific skills vary. Internship applicants are asked to submit a resume and cover letter after completing the application form.
