The program provides an approximately RMB 470,000 pre-tax annual compensation package that includes insurance, one annual round-trip travel allowance between the two workplaces, overseas allowance and related expenses. Chinese fellows are expected to spend about 30% of their working time at ASIPP and 70% at ITER; foreign fellows about 50% at each institution.

Open to outstanding doctoral graduates worldwide, generally no more than 35 years old, who already hold a doctorate or have passed the doctoral defense with the degree pending. Applicants' academic backgrounds and research directions must match the ASIPP postdoctoral research topics. Degrees obtained outside mainland China require the certification specified by ASIPP.
