Opportunities from Kyoto University AFLSP

The Asian Future Leaders Scholarship Program at Kyoto University supports eligible Asian citizens admitted as regular master's-level students for April 2027. Kyoto University states that the two-year scholarship includes substantial living support of approximately JPY 150,000–220,000 per month in total, plus admission and tuition fees, with the amount varying by exchange rate. Kyoto University typically hosts around ten AFLSP scholars annually.

Applicants must hold citizenship of one of the eligible Asian countries or regions listed by AFLSP and satisfy Kyoto University's programme-specific admission and AFLSP selection requirements. The current eligible list includes China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Korea, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Timor-Leste, Philippines, Bhutan, Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Maldives, Mongolia and Laos. Applicants must also secure admission to an eligible master's-level Kyoto University graduate programme.
