Opportunities from Martingale Foundation

Applicants first apply to Martingale, with shortlisted candidates interviewed in November 2026. Successful qualified candidates then apply to eligible partner-university programmes, and Martingale-funded places are allocated after university offers. The programme is designed for students with strong academic potential who face financial barriers to postgraduate study.

Applicants must have achieved or be on track for a First or Upper Second Class degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, be eligible to begin a UK master's or PhD in September 2027, qualify for Home Fee status at partner universities, meet specified UK/Ireland schooling criteria unless covered by the refugee-status exception, and demonstrate financial barriers including household income of £45,000 or less.
