Opportunities from Science Granting Councils Initiative (SGCI)

The multilateral call supports collaborative research aligned with Africa's STISA-2034 priorities. The application platform states a total US$12 million in research grants, requires at least three institutions per consortium, permits up to five co-applicant institutions from five countries, and allows projects of up to 36 months. Institutions must come from at least three participating SGCI countries, with country eligibility varying by thematic area. Applicants first submit an Expression of Interest through the official funding-call platform.

Eligible proposals are collaborative, multi-country research projects involving institutions from participating SGCI countries.
