Fellows pursue independent research while joining both a university department and the interdisciplinary Zukunftskolleg. The university lists E13 TV-L employment, an individual research allowance, access to cooperative-project and travel/equipment funding, career development, international networking and no mandatory teaching obligation. Conditional on an external grant proposal, the appointment may be extended by one additional year.

Applicants should normally hold a doctoral degree awarded between 30 September 2024 and 1 October 2026, subject to the stated exceptions for parental leave or work outside academia. Candidates must not hold a permanent professorship or habilitation/equivalent, should propose research aligned with a discipline represented at Konstanz and are encouraged to identify a local host.
