The Hardship Fund is a safety-net form of financial assistance rather than a regular scholarship or main source of income. Eligible students complete an online form on the Student Portal and attend a meeting with the Inclusion team. No more than one request may be made per semester, and the University says applicants can expect a decision within four weeks after a complete application is received.

Applicants must be fully registered in a Bachelor, Master or self-funded doctoral programme, normally be in at least the third semester of their current programme after completing two previous semesters at the University of Luxembourg, have no disciplinary sanction, not have applied for or been granted other financial aid, and face immediate unexpected exceptional financial hardship.
