Opportunities from University of Otago — Doctoral Scholarship

Otago states that applicants can apply anytime, with 2026 scholarship allocation considered in quarterly rounds in March, June, September and November. Applications for a round must be submitted through eVision with a completed departmental assessment by the first day of that round month. Up to 153 awards are offered annually.

The scholarship is available to domestic and international applicants for PhD and eligible professional doctorates. Applicants are usually seeking their first doctoral qualification. Selection is based predominantly on academic merit and research potential, subject to the University's current doctoral scholarship review and allocation rules.
