Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Department Director and assigned mentor, and according to established Firm policies and procedures, the Intern performs a variety of functional and administrative duties for the Firm. The Intern will work collaboratively with department team members on specific short and long-term projects related to their field of study and firm priorities with a focus on all aspects of Information Security, including Cyber Security. Activities will be assigned by the Department Director based on business needs and learning opportunities for the Intern.

Internship Eligibility:

The BT R.I.S.E. Internship Program is designed to introduce students in specified fields of study to the day-to-day operations of a law firm. Candidate’s skill, knowledge, aptitude, and education will be considered during the selection process.

To be eligible candidates must:

  • Entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year in the Fall of 2027.

  • Be available to participate for 10 consecutive weeks.

  • Enrolled in a 2-4 year undergraduate degree program at time of internship

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support assigned department to deliver meaningful work that advances business initiatives related to the implementation of Information Security initiatives for the firm.

  • Collaborate with work team members on focused projects, data input, data analysis, process documentation, and recordkeeping.

  • Participate in internal and external meetings to develop an aptitude for their field of study and business acumen.

  • Observe confidentiality in all client and Firm matters.

  • Collaborate with other departments and summer interns, where applicable

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program to receive college course credits.

  • Pursuing a degree in fields of study that aligns with the following departments: Human Resources, Accounting, Marketing, Information Technology, and Legal Operations.

  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when performing work functions.

  • Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors.

  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by email, phone, and virtually.

  • Ability to follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff.

  • Provide timely and accurate information with ordinary courtesy and tact.

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including personal computer,

copiers, phones, and scanning equipment.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
