AI Native Founding Product and Platform Engineer

Our partner is looking for an AI Native Founding Product and Platform Engineer based in the United States. This is a founding-level engineering opportunity for a hands-on technical leader who wants to shape a modern digital product and engineering platform from the ground up. You will define architecture, development practices, tooling, and technical standards while actively building production systems. The role spans customer-facing product experiences, distributed backend services, cloud infrastructure, and developer platforms. You will establish scalable foundations that allow a lean engineering organization to move faster, operate safely, and deliver high-quality products. Rather than focusing on governance, you will lead through code, making critical technical decisions through hands-on delivery and pragmatic problem-solving. You will also turn successful engineering patterns into reusable capabilities that can accelerate development across the organization. Lead architecture and delivery for high-impact digital product initiatives, using hands-on development to establish strong technical direction and engineering standards. Design and build full-stack solutions spanning frontend applications, backend services, cloud infrastructure, and deployment pipelines. Develop and evolve the engineering platform, including CI/CD workflows, Kubernetes infrastructure, infrastructure as code, observability, and developer tooling. Establish scalable and reusable technical foundations that enable engineers to build, deploy, and operate software more quickly and independently. Identify successful technical patterns and transform them into shared services, frameworks, libraries, tooling, and architectural standards. Continuously remove friction from the development lifecycle through automation, standardization, and thoughtful platform design. Design systems that are scalable, resilient, observable, maintainable, and aligned with real customer and business needs. Partner closely with Product, Design, and engineering teams to translate user needs into valuable, technically sound solutions. Mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and promote a pragmatic culture centered on high-quality delivery, autonomy, and continuous improvement. Establish operational practices around monitoring, tracing, testing, reliability, and overall engineering excellence. Requirements: 10+ years of software engineering experience, with substantial experience across both product engineering and platform or SRE environments. Expert-level experience with React and TypeScript for frontend development. Deep experience building distributed backend systems using Go, Python, or TypeScript. Architectural and hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP and infrastructure as code using Terraform. Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD pipelines, including experience building workflows with tools such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI. Proven ability to design scalable, resilient, and observable distributed systems. Practical expertise in monitoring, tracing, testing, and operational excellence, with familiarity with technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Jaeger. Strong product mindset and experience working closely with Product and Design teams to create solutions that deliver meaningful value to users. Builder-oriented approach, with a preference for solving architectural challenges through practical implementation rather than process-heavy governance. Strong systems thinking, technical judgment, and ability to balance simplicity, scalability, reliability, and delivery speed. Excellent collaboration, communication, and mentoring skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions across teams.
