University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit an Assistant in Business Development Office.

The UNNC Business Development Office (BDO) acts as a single focal point for matters related to marketing, client relationship management, contract management and costing of commercial business development activities. Examples of business development activity at UNNC include, but are not limited to:

  • Executive education for Chinese and international corporations;

  • Teacher training programmes;

  • Language training programmes;

  • Commercial summer school programmes;

  • Pre-sessional and foundation study pathways; and

  • Cohorts of degree-bearing programmes for external institutions.

The Assistant role supports BDO’s capacity to develop and deliver commercial educational products, maintain client relationships, support marketing and events, and complete the administrative processes required for effective programme delivery. Strategic direction is provided by the Director of Business Development and senior BDO staff.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Support business development managers to identify and develop B2B and B2C commercial programmes.

  • Support the day-to-day operations of business development.

  • Use and maintain BDO systems, including CRM and relevant University systems, to support pipeline, programme and client administration.

  • Support business development managers to maintain relationships with B2B and B2C clients.

  • Support client communication, follow-up and coordination throughout programme development and delivery.

  • Support the collection and maintenance of accurate client and programme information.

  • Support the delivery of daily office operations and administration.

  • Take responsibility for the timely completion of assigned University administrative processes.

  • Support the maintenance of departmental systems and platforms, including website, WeChat, CRM and BPM.

  • Support team activities and visits to peer organisations where required.

  • Support the design and delivery of marketing materials for B2B and B2C business development.

  • Support the planning and delivery of promotional and commercial events, both on and off campus.

  • Support programme logistics and operational delivery, including during peak summer periods.

  • Undertake domestic travel for commercial and educational events where required.

  • Participate in training and staff development events as trainer or trainee as appropriate.

  • Maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness.

  • Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.

  • You should have a Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant subject.

  • You should have professional written and spoken proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English.

  • You should have skills in using social media platforms for online marketing.

  • You should have skills in using design software for the development of promotional materials.

  • You should have good presentation and communication skills in formal and informal settings.

  • You should have ability to work effectively in an international and multi-cultural setting.

  • You should have good time-management, planning and prioritisation skills.

  • You should have good interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships internally and externally.

  • You should have a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • You should have experience of working in a multi-cultural environment.

  • You should have experience of working as part of a team to achieve shared goals.

  • You should have experience of following administrative processes and completing tasks accurately and on time.
