Overview
DAAD scholarship for music graduates applying from Madagascar for postgraduate music study in Germany. The 2027/28 call closes 24 September 2026.
Complete scholarship details
Eligible degree study can include a master's/postgraduate programme or selected third-cycle artistic qualifications at a state college of music in Germany; eligible advanced study without a degree can also be supported. Funding is normally 10–24 months for degree study or 12 months for advanced study without a degree. Published support includes EUR 992 per month, a travel allowance upon application, a one-off study allowance, insurance support, and possible additional rent, family, disability, green-mobility and language support. DAAD does not cover tuition fees.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants normally need a first degree in Music by the start of funding; an alternative route applies where the home country does not offer a degree and the applicant has exhausted available training for the instrument or subject. As a rule, the degree should not be older than six years at the deadline, and applicants must not have resided in Germany for more than 15 months before the deadline. Applicants must meet host-institution language and admission requirements and submit the required work samples through the DAAD media process.
Tips for this scholarship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
