A Word From The Programme Director
The global healthcare sector is among the most dynamic and rapidly growing industries in the world economy.
The health industry has become a powerful engine of economic growth. Healthcare industry can be a robust economic engine and one that indirectly creates significant social impact. The Malaysian health sector growth prospect looks extremely attractive. The Sector is expected to grow to MYR127 billion (US$30 billion) by 2027, fueled by increasing demand for healthcare services from an ageing population, rising affluence, and increasing life expectancy. Spurred by demographic shifts such as extended longevity and a rise in lifestyle, diseases such as hypertension and cardiovascular ailments, cancer and diabetes, national healthcare costs are also increasing dramatically.
The IMU doctoral programme in Healthcare Management is designed to develop scholars that can apply theoretical frameworks from the social sciences (such as economics, organisational theory and management, sociology) to address pressing health policy and management research questions. The programme is purposefully interdisciplinary and seeks to prepare students for research careers in academics as well as in public and private sector agencies and organisations.

- Contact a supervisor before applying only when the official instructions recommend or require it.
Verification notes
