We are seeking an eVTOL Flight Instructor I to support Pivotal’s customer training program. In this role, you will deliver structured ground, simulator, and aircraft training in accordance with Pivotal standards while helping customers build the knowledge, confidence, and operational discipline required to safely operate Pivotal aircraft. The ideal candidate is a Certified Flight Instructor or aviation training professional with experience delivering flight, simulator, ground, or other structured aviation training in a formal environment. Additional FAA aviation qualifications, such as Advanced Ground Instructor, Instrument Ground Instructor, Remote Pilot Certificate, or other relevant FAA certificates (or equivalent), are preferred.
Deliver structured ground, simulator, and aircraft training for Pivotal customers and eVTOL pilots Conduct pre-flight planning, student briefings, ground lessons, simulator sessions, flight lessons, post-flight debriefs, training analysis, and required reporting Support aircraft ground support (AGS) activities at training locations, including aircraft preparation, ground handling coordination, and operational support as needed Explain aviation, aircraft systems, safety, and operational concepts in a clear, practical, and customer-focused manner Maintain accurate training records, lesson documentation, student progress notes, and required program materials Support updates to training content, lesson plans, instructional materials, videos, and scenario-based training resources Identify student readiness concerns, training delivery gaps, or safety risks and communicate them through the appropriate channels Follow applicable laws, regulations, company procedures, safety standards, and training program expectations while conducting business on behalf of Pivotal Work safely and professionally in accordance with established operating procedures, risk controls, and customer training standards
Minimum of 3+ years of aviation training, flight training, simulation training, ground instruction, or formal instructional program experience Experience delivering training in a structured environment, such as classroom, simulator, flight, public safety, OEM, corporate aviation, military, Part 61 or Part 141 training settings Strong instructional communication skills, including the ability to brief, teach, coach, assess, and debrief trainees effectively Ability to support eLearning content, lesson plans, training aids, videos, scenarios, and other student-facing instructional materials Ability to follow established curriculum, training standards, operating procedures, and safety expectations with consistency Ability to meet the physical requirements to pilot Pivotal aircraft, including maintaining a fully clothed weight of 190 lbs or less Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment while maintaining safety, quality, and training objectives
FAA Certified Flight Instructor certificate Advanced Ground Instructor, Instrument Ground Instructor or other relevant FAA certificates (or equivalent) or ratings. Experience delivering flight, simulator, ground, military, OEM, corporate, public safety, or customer-facing aviation training Strong knowledge of aviation safety, risk management, standard operating procedures, and training standardization Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer-focused instructional approach Strong attention to detail, sound safety judgment, and clear written communication skills Ability to work flexible schedules and travel to training locations in California, South Florida, and potentially other locations as business needs require
