The Executive Director, Key Accounts Lead will drive strategic market access initiatives within the oncology space, helping ensure healthcare providers and patients can access innovative therapies with appropriate coverage and reimbursement. This senior leadership role combines field team management, strategic account development, and high-level stakeholder engagement across specialty group purchasing organizations, oncology networks, community oncology practices, integrated delivery networks, and clinical pathway organizations. You will work closely with commercial, medical, payer, and operational teams to develop effective access strategies and address complex reimbursement challenges. By translating market insights into actionable plans, you will help strengthen product positioning, support launch readiness, and improve patient affordability. This opportunity is suited to an experienced oncology market access leader who excels at building relationships, influencing decision-makers, and leading cross-functional initiatives in a dynamic, highly regulated environment.
Build, develop, and lead a field-based key accounts team responsible for specialty group purchasing organizations, oncology aggregators, community oncology practices, integrated delivery networks, and other market access stakeholders. Develop and execute strategic account plans aligned with business objectives to expand product access, strengthen reimbursement pathways, and support appropriate product positioning. Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, including formulary and Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) leaders, pathway committee members, medical and pharmacy directors, and other population-health stakeholders. Represent the organization with oncology networks, professional associations, state societies, community oncology groups, and other influential access stakeholders. Collaborate cross-functionally with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Commercial Operations, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Sales teams to address access barriers and develop coordinated solutions. Co-develop field strategies, tools, and tactics that communicate product value effectively and support account engagement. Contribute to pricing and contracting strategies, evidence-generation plans, patient support programs, payer marketing initiatives, and account management approaches. Lead discussions and negotiations with internal and external partners to align coverage, reimbursement, and market access priorities. Establish a high-performance team culture centered on accountability, urgency, ethical conduct, collaboration, and continuous professional development. Monitor healthcare industry developments, payer policies, reimbursement trends, and competitive activity, translating insights into recommendations for strategic planning and product launches. Ensure that all market access activities comply with applicable legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements. Travel as needed to support business priorities and perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred. At least 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical payer strategy, group purchasing organization (GPO) strategy, pricing, and reimbursement. At least 7 years of focused account management experience within the oncology market access landscape. Demonstrated success engaging specialty GPOs, oncology aggregators, community oncology practices, and integrated delivery networks. Strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare payer and market access landscape, reimbursement processes, and relevant regulatory requirements. Proven leadership experience building and developing field teams, setting strategic priorities, and driving performance. Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building capabilities. Experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver compelling presentations and influence senior stakeholders. A consistent track record of operating in compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and operational standards. Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Willingness and ability to travel as required to support account engagement and business objectives. Recent commercial launch leadership experience in oncology and experience in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) or lung oncology are relevant areas of expertise for this opportunity. Benefits: Base salary range: $228,000–$285,000 USD, with actual compensation determined by factors such as experience, skills, certifications, and work location.
