Three-to-six-month U.S. research and/or lecturing fellowship for eligible Romanian professors, researchers and professionals with a doctorate or certified equivalent.

Current planned benefits include $1,800 international travel, a monthly stipend of $3,164–$4,805 depending on U.S. location, a $1,393 settling-in allowance, professional-activity support of $840 for grants of four months or less or $1,285 for longer grants, ASPE health benefits and J-1 visa sponsorship. Dependent allowances are available under stated conditions. The Commission notes that planned amounts are subject to change and final awards depend on available funding.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must hold Romanian citizenship and may not hold a U.S. green card or dual Romanian-U.S. citizenship. They must hold or expect to receive a PhD or certified equivalent before departure, have sufficient English proficiency, and propose research and/or lecturing in an eligible field at a U.S. university. Clinical medicine and other clinical disciplines are excluded. Applicants already in the U.S. or with five or more years of U.S. residence in the preceding six-year period are ineligible.
