We are seeking a skilled Full-Stack Software Engineer to develop scalable, reliable software solutions for the healthcare technology sector. In this role, you will contribute to building custom HealthTech applications and systems that help healthcare organizations address complex operational challenges. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, from implementing backend services and frontend features to supporting technical architecture and third-party integrations. Collaborating with cross-functional Agile engineering teams, you will help deliver high-quality code, improve existing systems, and investigate technical issues. You will also contribute to code reviews, documentation, security, and engineering best practices. This fully remote opportunity is suited to an independent, collaborative engineer who wants to deepen their technical expertise and take ownership of services and systems over time.
Develop full-stack applications: Build and maintain software features using PHP and Angular, delivering solutions that meet business, technical, and client requirements. Implement scalable services: Design and develop microservices that work together to support robust, maintainable, and scalable applications. Contribute to technical architecture: Review project architecture documentation and ensure that engineering deliverables align with established technical designs and implementation standards. Integrate external technologies: Support integrations with machine learning capabilities and third-party technologies to extend application functionality and meet client needs. Maintain high code quality: Write reliable, efficient, and maintainable code, minimizing the risk of defects and ensuring production-ready deliverables. Improve existing systems: Enhance current features, optimize application performance, and address technical debt to improve reliability and scalability. Investigate and resolve technical issues: Perform root-cause analysis when challenges arise, identify appropriate solutions, and implement fixes to prevent recurring problems. Participate in code reviews: Review teammates' code, identify potential issues before deployment, and contribute to consistent engineering standards across the team. Create and maintain documentation: Document code, technical decisions, and implementation details in a clear and useful way for colleagues across the engineering organization. Develop proofs of concept: Explore and validate potential technical approaches through prototypes and proofs of concept when needed. Collaborate within Agile teams: Work closely with fellow engineers and relevant stakeholders to coordinate development activities, meet commitments, and deliver projects on schedule. Promote continuous improvement: Stay current with software engineering best practices, design principles, emerging technologies, security requirements, and compliance standards. Build technical ownership: Develop deep expertise in the services and systems you help implement, progressively becoming a trusted subject matter expert responsible for their ongoing evolution. Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related field. Professional experience: At least two years of professional experience as a Full-Stack Software Engineer working with PHP and Angular, excluding internships. PHP and Angular proficiency: Practical experience developing and maintaining full-stack applications using PHP for backend development and Angular for frontend development. SaaS experience: Previous experience engineering software-as-a-service (SaaS) products or platforms. Development environments: Experience working in Linux and/or macOS environments. Software engineering fundamentals: Understanding of software architecture, maintainable code, design principles, testing practices, debugging, and application performance optimization. Technical problem-solving: Ability to investigate complex issues, conduct root-cause analysis, develop proofs of concept, and implement effective technical solutions. Code quality and documentation: Commitment to writing high-quality code, participating in peer reviews, and maintaining clear technical documentation. Security and compliance awareness: Familiarity with current engineering practices related to application security, technology standards, and compliance. English communication skills: Excellent written and verbal English skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and collaborate effectively with distributed teams. Autonomy and teamwork: A self-sufficient, adaptable, and collaborative approach, with the ability to take ownership of assigned work while contributing to shared team objectives. Work authorization and location: Must reside in Brazil or another eligible Latin American country and be authorized to work in the relevant country. Benefits: Fully remote work: Work remotely from Brazil or another eligible location in Latin America, subject to the position's location requirements. Full-time employment: A full-time engineering opportunity within a specialized software development environment. Healthcare technology impact: Contribute to custom software solutions designed to address meaningful operational challenges in healthcare. Collaborative engineering culture: Work with Agile engineering teams on architecture, implementation, code reviews, and continuous improvement. Technical growth: Opportunities to expand your full-stack expertise, work with microservices and third-party integrations, and develop knowledge of machine learning integrations. Increasing ownership: Potential to become a subject matter expert and take ownership of services and systems as your expertise develops.
