IT Systems Administrator

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an IT Systems Administrator based in United States. This role is responsible for administering and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructure across cloud, SaaS, and on-premises environments. You will manage critical Microsoft and AWS technologies while ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, available, and performant. The position combines hands-on systems administration with automation, Infrastructure as Code, cybersecurity, and technical troubleshooting. You will collaborate with business stakeholders and technology vendors on business-critical applications, integrations, upgrades, migrations, and implementations. The role is well suited to an automation-focused IT professional who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and improving operational efficiency. You will also provide technical guidance to employees and junior IT staff in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Install, configure, administer, maintain, and optimize infrastructure, services, and applications across AWS, SaaS, hybrid, and on-premises environments. Administer Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, file services, identity management, and SSO integrations. Manage AWS infrastructure and services while supporting Linux environments and hybrid-cloud architectures. Develop and improve Infrastructure as Code and automation solutions using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, PowerShell, AWS CLI, and related technologies. Monitor system health, performance, availability, capacity, and security, investigating and resolving complex infrastructure, cloud, identity, and application issues. Implement security controls, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and least-privilege access practices across enterprise systems. Support business-critical applications and collaborate with internal stakeholders and software vendors on operations, integrations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and implementations. Participate in change management and support infrastructure and application deployments, migrations, testing, upgrades, and production changes. Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, procedures, knowledge base articles, and operational guidance. Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to employees and less-experienced IT team members. Support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, networking, databases, and other core infrastructure operations. Contribute to technology transformation initiatives and other IT projects as assigned. Requirements: 5+ years of progressively responsible experience as a Systems Administrator, Cloud Administrator, Site Reliability Engineer, or similar role in a complex enterprise environment. Strong experience administering Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, identity management, and SSO integrations. Working knowledge of Linux server administration in AWS and hybrid-cloud environments. Demonstrated experience administering AWS services such as EC2, IAM, VPC, Route 53, Systems Manager, FSx, CloudWatch, and related technologies. Strong scripting and automation capabilities using PowerShell and AWS CLI. Experience supporting SaaS, cloud-native, hybrid-cloud, and on-premises applications and infrastructure. Knowledge of networking, databases, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery principles. Strong understanding of cybersecurity, vulnerability management, patch management, and enterprise security best practices. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, scripting, and systems automation practices. Ability to manage identity and access controls, including Active Directory, Entra ID, SSO, and least-privilege access. Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and technical documentation skills, with a service-oriented and resourceful approach to problem solving. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and coordinate with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. 8+ years of overall IT experience preferred. Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Nutanix AHV is preferred. Advanced Windows Server and Active Directory administration experience is preferred. Experience supporting application integrations, APIs, SQL databases, and reporting platforms is preferred. Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, laboratory, or quality-focused environments is preferred. Experience working in high-growth organizations undergoing technology transformation is a plus. Willingness to occasionally work weekends or extended hours for maintenance, deployments, upgrades, and critical incidents. Ability to travel occasionally, up to 5%.
