This is a senior infrastructure leadership role responsible for the stability, security, availability, and performance of a global Unix/Linux server estate. You’ll provide hands-on L3 expertise across enterprise operating systems while resolving complex production issues and leading major incident response. The role spans patching, vulnerability remediation, security hardening, performance management, lifecycle activities, and continuous infrastructure improvement. You’ll guide L1/L2 operations teams and work closely with Security, Database, Storage, Network, Cloud, and Application specialists. The position operates within a global follow-the-sun model across APAC, EMEA, and North America, requiring strong collaboration and operational discipline. You’ll also drive automation, problem management, root cause analysis, documentation, and service improvement initiatives. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact on the reliability and operational maturity of a complex enterprise infrastructure environment.
Provide expert L3 technical support for P1–P4 incidents, complex operating system issues, and critical production problems. Lead and technically guide L1/L2 Unix/Linux operations teams across multiple global regions. Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise RHEL, Ubuntu, AIX, and Solaris environments. Own operating system patching, patch compliance, vulnerability remediation, and security baseline improvements. Perform CIS hardening and address infrastructure security gaps across the server estate. Monitor and optimize system performance and capacity, including CPU, memory, filesystem, storage, and I/O issues. Support server provisioning, configuration, lifecycle management, upgrades, and decommissioning activities. Lead problem management and root cause analysis, ensuring permanent corrective actions are identified and implemented. Support infrastructure monitoring, disaster recovery activities, operational readiness, and service continuity. Develop and maintain operational runbooks, standard procedures, technical documentation, and knowledge resources. Identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions that improve operational efficiency, consistency, and reliability. Collaborate closely with Security, Database, Storage/Backup, Network, Cloud, and Application teams to resolve cross-functional infrastructure issues. Maintain consistent service delivery, communication, and handovers within a global APAC–EMEA–North America follow-the-sun operating model. Requirements: 8–12+ years of professional experience in enterprise Unix/Linux infrastructure, systems administration, and production operations. Strong hands-on expertise in Unix/Linux system administration, troubleshooting, and enterprise infrastructure management. Expert-level knowledge of at least one major enterprise operating system, such as RHEL, Ubuntu, AIX, or Solaris. Strong troubleshooting capabilities across operating systems, filesystems, processes, system services, resource utilization, and performance issues. Proven experience with OS patching, vulnerability remediation, security controls, and CIS hardening. Strong knowledge of LVM, NFS, SSH, DNS, filesystem administration, package management, cron, and related Unix/Linux technologies. Experience supporting 24x7 enterprise production environments, including on-call or shift-based operations. Strong understanding and practical experience with ITIL-based Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes. Experience leading, mentoring, and technically developing L1/L2 infrastructure teams. Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate major incidents and complex technical escalations. Strong scripting and automation capabilities using Shell, Python, Ansible, or comparable technologies. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams and geographic regions. Experience working within a global follow-the-sun support model is highly valuable. Red Hat RHCSA or RHCE certification is preferred. Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and patch-management platforms is an advantage. Experience with ServiceNow or another enterprise ITSM platform is preferred. Knowledge of VMware, AWS, Azure, backup technologies, and disaster recovery solutions is a plus. Benefits: Remote working opportunity from India. Senior-level technical ownership within a global enterprise infrastructure environment. Opportunity to work across diverse Unix/Linux platforms and complex production infrastructure. Exposure to cloud, virtualization, security, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, and automation technologies. Opportunity to lead and mentor infrastructure operations teams across multiple regions. Collaborative environment with cross-functional interaction across Security, Network, Database, Storage, Cloud, and Application teams. Opportunity to drive automation, continuous improvement, and infrastructure reliability initiatives. Compensation and benefits are based on the role, experience, location, and applicable employment terms.
