This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager I, Sales Development based in Canada. The Manager I, Sales Development will lead and scale an outbound sales development team, driving pipeline generation and supporting the organization’s broader sales objectives. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on leadership in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You will coach Sales Development Representatives (SDRs), establish performance goals, and optimize outbound strategies across cold calling, email outreach, direct mail, and creative follow-up initiatives. You will also play a key role in recruiting, onboarding, and developing new team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Working closely with senior leadership, you will use data, technology, and performance insights to strengthen sales processes and deliver measurable business results.
Lead and manage SDRs, setting clear objectives, monitoring performance, and supporting individual and team success. Develop, implement, and continuously refine outbound sales strategies and processes to increase pipeline generation. Track lead management processes, sales activity, conversion rates, and other key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement. Coach team members on outbound prospecting techniques, including cold calling, email outreach, direct mail, and effective follow-up strategies. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to provide feedback, support professional development, and address performance opportunities. Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new team members, helping build a high-performing and scalable sales development organization. Motivate and recognize team members through effective coaching, incentives, and performance management. Report operational and financial performance metrics to senior management, translating data into actionable recommendations. Evaluate and support the adoption of new sales technologies, enablement tools, and programs that improve team productivity and results. Serve as a mentor and role model, promoting a positive team culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. Requirements: Direct experience as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) or Business Development Representative (BDR), combined with relevant team leadership or management experience. At least two years of SDR management experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated hands-on experience with outbound prospecting and cold calling, beyond managing inbound lead generation. Proven track record of leading a high-performing inside sales team and achieving measurable results. Strong understanding of outbound pipeline generation, prospecting workflows, and sales development best practices. Excellent communication, presentation, coaching, and interpersonal skills. High emotional intelligence and the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop individuals with different strengths and needs. Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret performance data, prepare reports, identify trends, and recommend improvements. Proficiency with Salesforce, including the ability to use sales technology to monitor performance and manage sales processes. Experience with Salesloft and related sales technology tools is strongly preferred. Enthusiastic, adaptable, and proactive approach to leadership in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Benefits: Compensation: Expected base compensation of CAD $123,300 , with eligibility for a variable commission plan.
