This role provides technical oversight, quality assurance, and claims guidance across complex property and catastrophe claims. You will review claims throughout the lifecycle, helping ensure accurate investigations, coverage decisions, damage assessments, and valuations. The position combines technical claims expertise with auditing, coaching, vendor oversight, and operational support. You will work closely with claims leadership and field operations to resolve complex coverage issues and improve claim outcomes. The role also provides settlement and denial authority for moderately complex losses within defined limits. Success requires strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This is a fully remote opportunity with periodic travel tied to operational requirements and catastrophe events.
Provide technical guidance to management and claims teams on complex coverage questions and high-severity property claims. Review claims handled by catastrophe, non-catastrophe, and contingent staff throughout the claim lifecycle, providing direction on investigations, coverage, liability, damages, and valuation. Authorize damage estimates and claim payments for moderately complex losses within assigned authority levels. Exercise settlement and denial authority where appropriate and ensure decisions are supported by sound documentation and analysis. Conduct claims performance, quality assurance, and focused audit reviews to evaluate accuracy, consistency, compliance, and operational effectiveness. Provide oversight of vendors and staff supporting both catastrophe and regular claims operations. Support coverage investigations, supplement triage, subrogation investigations, public adjuster claims, additional living expense handling, asbestos abatement, ladder-assist activities, and contents inventory and pricing. Analyze statistical and performance reports to identify trends, assess claim outcomes, evaluate processes, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders. Document claim files thoroughly, including evaluations, decision rationale, findings, and supporting notes. Summarize relevant documentation and maintain accurate information within claims management systems. Provide coaching, technical support, and operational guidance to help improve claims quality and consistency. Requirements 3+ years of direct property claims adjusting experience. Demonstrated property estimating experience, including the ability to write and review estimates. Experience using property estimating platforms such as Xactimate. Strong knowledge of property claims, catastrophe claims, damage assessment, coverage investigation, and claim valuation. Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and determine appropriate claim outcomes. Excellent customer service, written communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment. High attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, well-documented claim decisions. Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment. Ability to provide effective technical guidance and coaching to claims professionals, vendors, and operational stakeholders. Candidates located in the Pacific or Mountain Time Zones are preferred. Ability to work a 10-days-on / 4-days-off schedule , generally from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM , according to the assigned schedule. Ability to travel approximately 10–25% annually , depending on operational requirements and catastrophe events. Applicants must be prepared to meet applicable adjuster and/or appraiser licensing requirements, including obtaining required licenses within 60 days of hire where applicable. Candidates holding active insurance licenses may be required to terminate existing appointments and comply with applicable restrictions on outside appointments. Benefits Base compensation: $65,600–$130,200 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity. Remote work: Fully remote position within the United States. Technology setup: Company-provided laptop, monitors, headset, keyboard, and mouse. Connectivity support: Monthly reimbursement to help offset home internet costs.
