Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Benefits Analyst based in the United States. The Senior Benefits Analyst will play a key role in managing employee benefits administration, ensuring data accuracy, maintaining regulatory compliance, and improving the overall employee experience. This position combines analytical problem-solving with hands-on benefits operations, collaborating closely with Payroll, HRIS, HR business partners, and external vendors. You will investigate discrepancies, strengthen reporting processes, support retirement plan administration, and help ensure benefits systems operate accurately and efficiently. The role also contributes to annual open enrollment, benefits audits, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives. As a trusted resource for employees, you will provide guidance through benefit selections, life events, and retirement-related questions. This opportunity is based in Boston, Massachusetts, with a hybrid schedule that includes three days in the office and two days working from home.

Analyze benefits, payroll, and vendor data to identify discrepancies, trends, and emerging issues; validate findings, investigate root causes, implement corrections, and recommend preventive measures. Initiate 401(k) contribution files and calculate monthly employer matching contributions. Develop a thorough understanding of how benefits plan provisions, system configurations, payroll deductions, and vendor processes interact to resolve issues effectively and prevent recurrence. Conduct audits of benefits enrollment, employee eligibility, payroll information, deductions, retirement contributions, and other benefits data to maintain accuracy, compliance, and data integrity. Participate in annual U.S. benefits open enrollment, coordinating with team members to support accurate and timely administration. Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned benefits vendors, monitor service performance, track outstanding issues, verify corrections, and escalate unresolved concerns. Collaborate with HRIS and Payroll teams to maintain accurate benefits data, troubleshoot file transmissions and eligibility rules, resolve deduction discrepancies, and test system configuration changes. Support benefits-related projects, system enhancements, acquisitions, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to streamline benefits administration, automate recurring reports, reduce manual work, and improve operational efficiency without compromising accuracy. Maintain benefits information across internal systems and vendor enrollment platforms, ensuring data consistency between systems. Prepare, review, and validate data for benefits plan audits, regulatory reporting, Form 5500 preparation, and nondiscrimination testing in collaboration with benefits leadership and external advisers. Support regulatory compliance activities, required testing, audits, filings, reporting obligations, and the maintenance of accurate plan documentation. Serve as a knowledgeable resource for employee benefits questions, resolving complex concerns and delivering responsive, high-quality service. Develop employee communications, educational materials, and knowledge resources that help employees understand their benefits. Support employees through qualifying life events, benefits enrollment decisions, and retirement planning activities. Conduct new-hire benefits orientations and employee education sessions as needed. Exercise independent judgment when resolving routine and complex issues within established policies and procedures. Requirements Bachelor's degree required. At least five years of experience in employee benefits administration. Workday experience preferred but not required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, validate data, and implement effective solutions. Experience working with benefits, payroll, vendor, and employee data, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and data integrity. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain benefits information clearly to employees and internal stakeholders. Demonstrated initiative, accountability, resourcefulness, efficiency, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through. Ability to learn new software applications quickly and develop proficiency across multiple systems and reporting tools. Ability to understand organizational structures, identify key stakeholders, and build effective working relationships across HR, Payroll, HRIS, and external vendor teams. Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and benefits information. A commitment to fostering inclusion and belonging through curiosity, humility, courage, self-reflection, and a willingness to learn from others. Benefits Annual salary: $100,000–$125,000 USD base salary, with placement depending on experience and other factors, including internal equity.
